Angus  Konstam's Edinburgh Wargames

Welcome to the Edinburgh Wargames Site

  Journal updated on 18th July

Note: In mid-March my octogenarian mother suffered a stroke. She lives up in Orkney, the islands off the north of Scotland, and I've been spending most of his time up there, trying to do what I can. This might take months - we really don't know. Fortunately the site is being run in my absence by my gaming buddies Derek Hodge and Dougie Trail. Lord help us...

I'll also be filing the odd report,  on one of the rare occasions I'm down in Edinburgh for a few days. Finally, as I'm spending so much time up there I'll start up a small blog, covering my occasional attempts to create a new wargames group up there! You can follow any developments through the "Orkney" button down below.

As well as writing history books I also wargame with historical miniatures. Yup, that’s little toy soldiers to you!

I play regularly at the wargames club here in Edinburgh, where the South East Scotland Wargame Club holds weekly meetings.

Wargame Clubs are dangerous places. You go along with good intentions, then someone talks you into gaming something new. Before you know it you’ve got more lead than you know what to do with, and an unpainted lead mountain larger than Mount Rushmore! Let me invite you to tour my lead stash, and who knows .. You might be talked into something new as well!

I keep a Wargames Journal , and it gets updated every week. Occasionally I also add other pages about the historical periods I game, the armies and rules systems we use, and anything else related to this strange and somewhat geeky hobby. Please, join me on a tour of this miniature world...
